About Alison Hendricks

Alison Hendricks, LCSW, is a trainer and consultant who specializes in trauma-informed care, secondary traumatic stress, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

She is a National Trainer for TF-CBT and specializes in Culturally Modified TF-CBT with Latine Children and Families.

Alison is the lead author of several TF-CBT and child traumatic grief workbooks, which have been translated into multiple languages and disseminated worldwide. She is co-author of the Child Welfare Trauma Training Toolkit (3rd Ed.), a product of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN).

Alison is an Affiliate Member of the NCTSN and is Co-Chair of the Secondary Traumatic Stress Collaborative Group, with whom she developed a comprehensive training curriculum on work-related trauma exposure. She has worked with child welfare agencies to develop and implement tailored STS training and intervention plans based on a multi-method assessment of staff’s STS-related needs. Alison is a member of the Secondary Traumatic Stress Consortium and a consultant with the Secondary Traumatic Stress Innovations and Solutions Center, with whom she developed and implemented comprehensive training for supervisors using the Core Competencies in STS-Informed Supervision. She co-authored the STS Blueprint: A Guide to Addressing Secondary Traumatic Stress in Children’s Advocacy Centers.

Alison has over 20 years of experience training professionals and working with families impacted by trauma. She provides training and consultation on TF-CBT, trauma-informed care, and secondary traumatic stress to programs across the country. Alison has presented at national and international conferences and has published several journal articles on a wide variety of topics related to childhood trauma and secondary traumatic stress.

Alison Hendricks graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology from Columbia University and completed her MSW at Hunter College School of Social Work. She lives in San Diego with her husband and daughter.
